IMPACT K9 USA LLC
We are family owned and operated (Bill & Colette Kennedy). Bill Kennedy has trained and worked dogs since 2003. He has learned the fundamentals of training a sound dog for obedience, agility, scent detection, article search, tracking, cadaver search, and apprehension. Bill trained and worked a full service German Shepherd in a corrections setting, after creating the K9 Unit, for over 4 years. He then trained and worked a full service Dutch Shepherd for a Police Department for approximately 5 years. This is when Bill fell in love with the Dutch Shepherd breed. Because of his recognized skills in training and handling, over 19 years, he assisted in training numerous other dogs. He assisted with new handlers as they trained their full service dogs. Bill provided these new handlers with techniques and examples of how to train their dogs successfully.
Part of the training Bill provided for the police dogs, included the skills needed in a personal protection dog. He trained the dogs to bite and hold and release on command when he observed a threat to himself. The dogs were also trained to protect him, those with him, and themselves and react if they perceived a threat to him that he was not aware of. They were also trained to do building searches.
Besides his training expertise, another qualification that Bill has as a trainer is his temperament when working with the dogs. Bill shows the patience needed to allow the dog to proceed as it needs to, ensuring solid skills. He knows the secret to having the dog love what they are being trained for through positive reinforcement and he gives that in abundance. Bill personally oversees the training of each and every dog. A successful program demands top quality, temperament tested dogs personally trained by a proven trainer.
Bill personally selects all of the breeding dogs to produce the highest quality puppies. He begins training them at 3 days old through Early Neurological Stimulation. The training continues until the pup leaves us or until the pup has matured into a fully trained personal protection dog.
Bill and Colette would also like to rescue Dutch Shepherds, train them, and donate them to Military Veterans as emotional support dogs in the future!
